The CBA104 – Cyber Vulnerability Assessment Fundamentals will immerse learners into a deep understanding of how perimeter defenses work as a precursor to understanding attacks on networks. The course will show how intruders escalate privileges and what steps can be taken to secure a system. Learners will explore Intrusion Detection, Policy Creation, Social Engineering, DDoS Attacks, Buffer Overflows, and Virus Creation. Learners will also explore and perform assessments of systems and networks within the network environment or enclave and identify where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. They will also execute and measure the effectiveness of defense-in-depth architecture against known vulnerabilities.

CBA104 - Cyber Vulnerability Assessment Fundamentals will help students prepare for the ECC 312-50 exam. Students taking this course will be offered the option to continue to certification upon program completion. Program completion is not an eligibility requirement to sit for the certification exam. If a student exercises the option to take the certification exam, they may choose to use the resources provided within the course to prepare. This course does not provide a voucher or guarantee of eligibility for the certification exam.

CBA105 is designed to develop a broad range of skills across security policy development and management, as well as a technical understanding of a wide range of security controls. Learners will develop skills in the use of data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purposes of mitigating threats. Learners will also develop skills that will allow them to lead, coordinate, communicate, integrate, and account for the overall success of the cybersecurity program, ensuring alignment with agency or enterprise priorities. Learners will understand how to develop and maintain cybersecurity plans, strategies, and policies to support and align with organizational cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory compliance. They will develop an appreciation for the responsibility for the cybersecurity of a program, organization, system, or enclave. They will leave with the necessary skills and best practices to effectively create and execute enterprise-wide information security strategies.

CBA105 - Advanced Cyber Professional will help students prepare for the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) exam. Students taking this course will be offered the option to continue to certification upon program completion. Program completion is not an eligibility requirement to sit for the certification exam. If a student exercises the option to take the certification exam, they may choose to use the resources provided within the course to prepare.
