ACL Innovators Build your Own PC Camp gives students the opportunity to learn about computers by providing a hands-on learning experience building their very own PC from scratch. From connecting the motherboard to installing the OS, campers will leave with a fully functioning gaming PC.

Camp Objectives:

• Students will learn how to build a desktop model PC by building their own (Specs will be based on materials provided by the lead instructor and what can be obtained based on microchip supply available. They may vary slightly from student to student)
• Students will learn how to install operating systems and gaming systems
• Students will learn the basics of computing
• Students will learn computer fundamentals of hardware and software
• Students will work in teams on various activities related to the theme of the camp to facilitate teamwork and idea exchange
• Students will hear from subject matter experts during the “lunch and learn” portion each day that will focus on real-world application of skills learned and how skills can be incorporated into career planning
