Build in VR Camp (VR Game Design)

June 27 – July 1   I   8:30 AM – 4:00 PM   I  Recommended Age: 13-18 years old

ACL Innovators Build in VR Camp will give students a first hand look at how to develop their own virtual worlds using Oculus Quest 2 headsets. Campers will design, model, and code 3D environments and applications to gain an understanding of how VR technology works and its future role in our constantly-evolving technological landscape.

Camp Objectives:

• Students will take apart and then rebuild from scratch a VR headset
• Students will learn computer fundamentals of hardware and software
• Students will learn how to program to connect to the stream gaming platform
• Students will work in teams on various activities related to the theme of the camp to facilitate teamwork and idea exchange
• Students will hear from subject matter experts during the “lunch and learn” portion each day that will focus on real-world application of skills learned and how skills can be incorporated into career planning
